Guess what?? Todd and I have been working very hard on moving immiblog to a new site. When I created this blog, I took a short-cut (hey, I had a newborn Immi at the time!) and used a blog builder that was part of my web-hosting package and as a result, it has had some limitations. But now, it’s time to make things better (I mean, aren’t you sick of the pink header??)! We are still working on organizing and decorating but the new blog is up and running!

I think that the new blog will be really fun. For one, Todd will be posting too! And I’m hoping that there will be more videos. Also, I’m going to be adding tags to previous posts (gradually!) so that things can be more easily found. And most excitingly, it LOOKS different.

Immi is stacking blocks. Very pleased with herself, she squealed in glee and clapped when she got the one on the top to stay on. What you don’t see is that inside the big box on the very bottom, there are 2 blocks that are stacked. The bottom one is the tiniest box which makes this five-block tower very wobbly!

Immi is doodling with pens. She loves pens even though it can be a little messy. Immi can put correct color caps back on the pens!

Immi loves dips! I found out she can dip things into food when I made guacamole for my chips. She had lots of fun having her tortilla with guacamole. Now she thinks that every side of blob is a dip. She wanted to dip crackers on my cheese plate into a side of mayo…

Top of my amp was oskar’s favorite space which more recently became Miss Monroe’s napping spot. Now it’s immi’s stash depository.

We haven’t put away the suitcase from Todd’s last trip to Detroit. Immi thinks that it’s an ImmiPod. It even has a built-in seat belt and she is trying to buckle herself in.

Immi is getting ready to go out. She is being sent off to her Grandmom’s because it’s our anniversary and we are doing dinner&movie (The Dark Night). Immi is pulling on the ears of the panda on her shirt (I think that I should sew it flat?).

Immi got a Hello Kitty doll house. She already have doll houses, but Immi loves them both and they are quite different. Now the fairies and the Hello-Kitties and the little muggles can have a tea party at the Mushroom House or a BBQ dinner at the dream house. Anyway, it was Immi’s half-birthday this past Saturday (the 6 month after her 1st birthday went by so quickly!).

Immi’s favorite item in laundry is still socks. She likes to wear them like a pair of opera gloves. Quite often, she lifts up her arm with a sock on and says “Meow!”, I think that she wants it to be a sock puppet (Immi has a lion and a leopard ones that are too big for her hands).

When Immi wants to go outside, she brings me my shoes for me to wear, then her own shoes for herself. Today, Immi brought her dad his shoes! So here we are outside in the parking lot with rc car.

Immi is walking with the car. Todd encouraged her to help the car move by pushing it forward a bit. Immi liked this game a lot and she kept pushing the car every time it stopped (in reality it’s controlled by the controller…). When it moved again, she laughed and clapped!

Sometimes these days, Immi has been having meals in her chair at the table with us instead of in her high chair. She seems to enjoy this arrangement and behaves really well. For some reason we end up with much less mess then if she ate at her high chair.

Immi now says “tata” for “thank you”. I think that it’s a very nice word to know: )

Immi still doesn’t say many words but she seems to understand a whole lot of what we are saying. I know for sure that there are many words she understands because when I say “Where is your chair/notebook/book/kitty…” She can find the correct object and bring it to me.

Immi and I went to a Story Time at a bookstore today while Todd was having eye examined. I had felt badly about not taking Immi more to these things but I feel better about it now because neither of us liked it at all.

Here is Immi on her “motorcycle” I mentioned yesterday. Todd pointed out that it’s not a motorbike with 4 wheels but that it’s a four-wheeler…and he is totally right (what was I thinking??). Immi scoots forwards AND backwards AND makes turns on it!

Immi is reorganizing my crochet hooks (I’ve been a beginner at it for few years. Now that the hooks are organized I’ll be better??). I sewed up the organizer last week and Immi seems to be very interested in it. I just might have to make her a color pencil organizer…

Immi’s grandmom stopped by because she got for immi a little kitchen and a motorcycle! Here is immi baking a turkey in the oven.

And guess what!? Todd is back from the business trip. He came home around 11:30 pm. Immi looked so happy when she heard the sound of jungling key at the door. He found for immi this turtle stuffy with a fun hairdo. Immi loved him immediately and gave him kisses. Immi’s daddy isn’t in the photo because he is getting ready for a bath. He got for us an entire box full (and a few extra!) of yummy bath bombs and soaps from Lush: )

Just our usual walk in the late afternoon. Immi at the playground. She wanted to tidy up the wood chips someone left on the playset and I had to stop her from sweeping them up with her entire arm (I didn’t want splinters in her hands and arms! Immi got one in her foot at the beach which was definitely not fun to remove!)

Immi found a leaf!

Immi misses her daddy so much. She wanted to call him and wouldn’t stop crying (she still looks sniffly) until I gave her the REAL phone which she spotted out of her reach. She is dialing now and about to say”Hi!, Dada!!. Hi!!”.

Immi’s grandparents invited us over of dinner. Immi is walking around in the parking lot while we wait for our ride.

People who visit our place ask us often if the cats can jump over or otherwise go through the gates. I haven’t seen them jump over but they can go though the side of the one that goes to the kitchen.

…it just takes a bit of effort for Mr. Oskar who is, you know, big-boned: )

Immi definitely knows how to turn on the radio. She can now reach the power button which was out of reach until now, she knows which switch make it play radio, and she figured out about the volume knob. Immi likes her music loud it seems — Immi might look more like me (we even have exactly the same bellybutton!), but she definitely got lots of her personality from her dad. I kept turning down the volume just a tad and Immi kept turning it up just a bit (I think it’s a milestone of sorts that she can do something “just a bit”!).

Immi is turning on the radio wearing my skirt (we were reorganizing my skirt drawer and immi wanted to wear it) which for her is a mermaid dress!

Immi stole my cookie and took it to her hiding place! If immi were an animal, she would be a cat. Except sometimes she reminds me of a hamster (dexterous, beady eyes, fluffy).

Immi’s daddy is in Detroit with business this week until late at night on Thursday. He will probably traveling there every other week (mon–thurs). We miss you!!

Todd had a bagel craving so were we are! Immi and her daddy waiting for our breakfast bagel sandwiches.

…and we ran out of coffee at the house so we stopped at Starbucks. Immi is having apple crunchies. Todd is having Grande Iced White Mocha and I’m having Tall Caramel Macchiato.

Allison and Aurie are visiting us from Cville! Immi is so very excited! Immi is looking at herself in Allison’s camera.

Aurie and Immi are playing with a cable that was in Allison’s camera bag. Immi wants to plug the cable into the camera. Immi seems to be cozy with *digital* things.

She HATES commercials on the radio (we listen to radio in the bedroom when Immi wants music because Todd has been borrowing my PINK iPod since his broke) — she throws a mini tantrum every time.

She gets upset when she sees that there is more drink left in her cup but can’t drink it because her straw doesn’t reach.

When Immi sees cats sitting on stools (and our kitties do this often!) she gives them kisses and then pushes them off.

Immi has suddenly gotten very possessive and she seems to not want to “share” me. Yesterday, she spent a lot of effort trying to push off Oskar (he is quite chubby and he was comfy where he was!) who was snuggling next to me. She gets upset even about her dad being near me and would peel his hands off of me.

But Immi is a happy immi even when she is grumpy: )

Todd and his colleague/friend came home for dinner (immi loved Daniel especially because he let her wear his bracelet!) and then left again to go back to work to finish up a project. So Immi and I are having snack&movie night watching Draemon (a classic japanese cartoon series featuring the cat shaped robot from the future). Immi seems to enjoy animated movies a lot and I do too.

It’s been a challenge lately taking blog-ly good (descriptive, candid, in focus, ok lighting) photo of immi because she wants to see herself on the camera screen. She rushes over as soon as she sees the camera and I end up with photos that look like this:

We have a ‘3 stickers a day’ rule here (the number is adjusted a bit depending on the cuteness/quality of the stickers…). We are bending this guideline today because it’s Friday and because it feels like it’s been such a long week.

Immi made this doodle today with paint brushes and blueberry juice. I’m not sure where Immi learned to paint but she knew about having to dip the brush in paint (Maybe from watching the movie Miss Potter? Or she saw me use brushes with ModPodge?) I don’t know if immi was finished with this piece but I had to confiscate her brush because she got sleepy — and therefore cranky — and wanted to paint her shirt with it.

Immi wanted to go outside so here we are. Immi spends about half of her ‘walks’ sitting (…and the other half running!).

Immi is having teatime. She was setting up her tea on her book (she seems to have realized that the tea set is wobbly on a carpet!), so I got out a handkerchief to make her table pretty.
